What inspired your love for the 2nd amendment?
My love for firearms has always been strong, but my understanding of the 2nd amendment really started towards the end of high school. I grew up on a farm so I had plenty of opportunities to go plinking out in the pasture. Doing this frequently I found myself getting more into firearms. It wasn’t until I first saw the magpul dynamics videos that I started actually getting into shooting with a purpose while trying to gain skill and competency. It was about this time where I realized that the second amendment is not about hunting, but rather the preservation of life, freedom, and the security of a free state. I trained on my own out in a field periodically for a few years, but my junior year of college I joined Oklahoma State University’s Practical Shooting Team, and they really took me to the next level. With them I was able to drastically improve my abilities and compete both at the state and national levels.
I ended up becoming the president of the OSU shooting team my senior year, where I was then able to help pass on the skills I had previously learned on to college kids who were both familiar and completely new to shooting.
What inspired you to start your Instagram and what’s one thing you wish you had known when you began?
I originally started my Instagram page because I wanted to share the experiences I was having and help people who were interested in firearms. I was pretty tuned in to different YouTube gun channels, but when I started my IG account not many people had gun pages on social media. I used this as an opening to start sharing things from my perspective, and what firearms and shooting looked like for a farm kid.
What advice would you give someone who is just starting off on their own route to all things guns and shooting?
