Bubba grew up in the great outdoors, always hunting, fishing and helping his family farm home-grown produce. He learned early on not to let good food go to waste; his family’s secret recipe for marinating, drying and smoking lean cuts of meat made sure of that.

When he was older, Bubba went on to serve our country, not only in the U.S. Army but the U.S. Coast Guard as well. In all, he dedicated more than 35 years of his life to serving and protecting us—35 years traveling the world and sampling jerky from every corner of it.

How did it taste?

“Mostly like bad flavored boot leather,” Bubba remembers.

Try as he might, he couldn’t find anything that quite compared to the smoked meat he remembered from back home.

In 2004, Bubba did what any enterprising American veteran would do. He started his own company to make jerky just the way he knows it should be: locally sourced, sustainably made and free of additives and preservatives.
