Celebrating Dads on Father's Day
As Father’s Day approaches, children of all ages struggle with the difficult, annual question: what to get dad for Father’s Day? Every dad either already has too many ties or never wears ties, so that’s definitely out. Your father probably still has half of the bottle of English Leather that you got him when you were eight, so cologne is out, too. Since your father likely taught you how to shoot around the same time he showed you how to tie your shoes, why not get him something that lets him know you that he raised you right.
We are all grateful to our dads for instilling in us a deep love of country. If you are like us, your father taught you to respect and honor the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We understand that the continued success of the American experiment is predicated upon our ability to remain free from the undue constraints of government. To that end we understand, just as our founding fathers did, that the Second Amendment serves as our safeguard against unconstitutional government overreach. Not only that, but fathers across the nation instructed their children on how to shoot and the importance of gun safety as a means to safeguard home and family. 2A means that we can defend our homes and protect our own, and we are grateful that dads across the nation taught this most important of lessons to their progeny. 2A also means that we can continue to participate in the great American tradition of hunting. Many of you reading likely have fond memories of hunting trips with your father, where he patiently coached you how to humanely take the shot. Maybe your father is a man of few words, and a few of them he uttered that really resonated with you were, “It’s my gun, it’s my right.” Whatever the reasons are that your dad is a 2A guy, get him the right 2A gift. We have a number of items available that pops is gonna love:
In elementary school, we had to write an essay about our hero. We didn’t even have to give the subject a moment of contemplation. Of course our hero was our dad. Your father is probably your hero as well, even if it is sometimes difficult to tell that to him. Make it easy this Father’s Day and get him a gift that says it for you:
Just as our dads profoundly shaped our lives, so too did our grandfathers. Is your father or grandfather a Vietnam veteran? We feel the deepest of gratitude to those who bravely served our country, defended our freedoms, and protected us here at home. Honor the vet in your life this Father’s Day and toast to his service with some of our glassware made for the occasion:
Some of the best one-on-one times we had with our dad when we were growing was when we were fishing. We remember when our dad helped us into a pair of too-large waders, walked us out a few yards into a river, and taught us how to fly fish with flies that he tied himself. Even though we didn’t catch anything that day, it is an indelible memory etched in our mind. Many of you have experienced those moments with your own fathers, when unbreakable bonds were formed and words weren’t necessary. Remind dad how much those memories mean with a gift that combines two of his favorite pass times: fishing and drinking.
Maybe you just want to keep it simple and let your father know that you think he’s the best, because he’s always been #1 in your eyes:
Happy Father’s Day out there to all the dads from the folks here at Lucky Shot!
